I’d been telling stories about many parts of my life and realized that I had a pretty complete arc of stories related to the tumultuous relationship between my father and I. I’ve collected 7 of those stories and made them into a show. It’s always a work in progress as the relationship is still ongoing. Until he dies, at which point, I will most likely dance on his grave.
Daddy Issues has been performed in NYC at Under St Marks and The Bell House, at The 2014 Edmonton International Fringe Festival, and in Philadelphia at The First Person Arts Festival. More to come.
Edmonton Journal – 4 1/2 STARS
“…simply, perfectly moving”
“While life stories like this are potentially gripping, no one did it better this year than New York City’s Peter Aguero in Daddy Issues at Walterdale Theatre.”
Vue Weekly – 4 STARS
“Aguero conquers the topic with neither hostility nor resentment, opting instead for humor and compassion. Alone at the mic, he paints a fascinating picture of rejection and personal growth.”
